Abstract Submission
Invites the Submission of Abstracts for the
2026 PAN AFRICAN GLAUCOMA ASSOCIATION - CONFERENCE LAGOS, NIGERIA
All glaucoma‑related clinical, surgical, epidemiological, public
health, and basic science work is welcome, including original
research, case reports, surgical techniques, imaging studies,
and health systems/advocacy projects relevant to glaucoma
in African and African‑descended populations.
Abstract Topics:
Abstracts may be submitted in any
- Glaucoma diagnosis and monitoring
- Glaucoma imaging (OCT, HRT, visual fields, etc.)
- Medical management of glaucoma
- Laser therapy (SLT, ALT, LPI, etc.)
- Surgical management (trabeculectomy, MIGS, tube shunts,
cyclodestructive procedures) - Cataract and glaucoma surgery (combined or sequential)
- Pediatric and congenital glaucoma
- Angle‑closure glaucoma
- Glaucoma in special populations (HIV, diabetes, etc.)
- Glaucoma epidemiology and population studies
- Glaucoma genetics and risk factors
- Glaucoma screening and community outreach
- Glaucoma education, training, and workforce development
- Health policy, access to care, and health equity in glaucoma
- Innovations in glaucoma care (telemedicine, AI, new devices)
- Case reports with important teaching points
Abstract Format and Requirements:
All abstracts must be written in clear English and follow this structured format:
- Title: Concise, informative, in title case (no all caps)
- Authors and affiliations: List all authors with their
institutions, cities, and countries; indicate the
presenting author - Purpose/Objective: State the aim or research
question - Methods: Describe study design, setting, population,
interventions, and statistical methods - Results: Present key findings with relevant numbers
(means, percentages, p‑values, etc.) - Conclusion: Summarize the main conclusion and its
clinical or public health relevance
