The Association is a non-profit Professional association of glaucoma subspecialists, Ophthalmologists with interest in glaucoma care, and other health professionals working on glaucoma, that provides a forum to prevent glaucoma-related disability worldwide with a focus on persons of African descent and the diaspora.
Currently glaucoma rates of blindness are 4-10 X higher in Africans compared to other ethnic groups. This organisation will be more focused on addressing these disparities in glaucoma.
